Do you believe Jehovah's Witnesses' Governing Body is the "faithful slave"?
by Marvin Shilmer inthis question is known to be posed by jws to other jws as an acid test of loyalty.
i'm not the first to notice what i'm about to point out and comment accordingly, but today i felt compelled to add a short article on my blog highlighting the new language that governing body member geoffrey jackson supplies as a response.
a person who honestly hesitates to respond with a robust "yes!

Misleading The Australian Royal Commission
by mtwtf inhas the australian rc been given misleading assurances that jws will fully comply with laws demanding that child sex offenses be reported to the police?
it appears that way when we look at the background to these assurances.
several jws testified to the rc, that they would have reported all child molestation cases to the police had they had been required to do so by law.

Even when in locations of mandatory reporting, JW elders conduct an investigation into the allegations first, then call the Branch, then call the authorities. Already they have abandoned best standards of care, before they report to law enforcement. -

Did GJ commit perjury?
by Driving Force inthis is something i was thinking about.
as we are very well aware gj told a lot of untruths.
is he likely to be prosecuted in australia for committing perjury by directly lying to the rc?.

Hard to prove, rarely prosecuted. -

If you force mandatory reporting you will no longer have a clergy penitent mechanism
by poopie inso then what do you have ?
appears jackson wants mandatory reporting so they will never have to deal with it then no more judicial comitees.
corect me if im wrong

Watchtower has lost repeatedly in court when claiming clergy penitent privilege. Two elders investigate, the Branch is called where two more Service Department elders are informed, three elders then form the Judicial Committee, finally a report is made and filed with the Branch. All of these processes have been illustrated in court as breaching clergy penitent privilege. -

Even with Mandated Reporting requirements, elders are instructed to investigate, call the Branch, THEN call law enforcement. The process is still fraught with problems and not even close to "best practice or standard of care" -

Preparing for Friday's Feeding Frenzy
by Esse quam videri inmany hundreds and perhaps thousands of people, worldwide, are eagerly waiting for the questioning of geoffrey jackson at the australian royal commission on institutional response to child abuse.
this is the day that many have hungered for.
finally, a member of the governing body being questioned and compelled to make full disclosure, to the best of his knowledge, the very best of his knowledge.

That would take at least a month of 8 hour hearings. -

Governing Body missing their big chance
by under the radar init seems to me that the governing body is missing an excellent opportunity to demonstrate that they are indeed the faithful and discreet slavetm.
even if, as they claim, they collectively constitute the slavetm only when meeting together to consider spiritual matters, surely any one of their number could expect to be guided by holy spirittm when testifying before the australian royal commission on such an important matter.. in fact, they should widely publicize the hearing and encourage all jw's to watch it live.
this would show they have nothing to fear and really believe all the (hot steaming piles of) spiritual food they've been spewing.. after all, their own translation of the bible says, at matthew 10:18-20, "18 and you will be brought before governors and kings+ for my sake, for a witness to them and the nations.+ 19 however, when they hand you over, do not become anxious about how or what you are to speak, for what you are to speak will be given you in that hour;+ 20 for the ones speaking are not just you, but it is the spirit of your father that speaks by you.".

Ten bucks says he will take an affirmation instead of an oath on the Bible. -

This month will probably be the first legitimate field service report Jackson has ever submitted. -

Or maybe Geoffrey will say all the right things directed by Holy Spirit leading thousands to return to Jehovah so they can again listen, obey and be blessed. WHAT? Its just as plausible as his suicide. (referring to the other post)
